Adding Review Site Links

How to add & edit review site links

ReputationStacker can track your reviews on most review sites - all you need to do is add your review site links.

When you add new review site links, it typically takes a few minutes to a half hour for our system to import all of your past reviews. If you still don't see them on the "Reviews" page after an hour, let us know and we'll look into it for you.

Now let's add your review site links into the system...

Where to add your review site links

When you create a new review profile you'll be taken to the rating & feedback form settings, which contains your review site link settings.

If you previously saved a review profile and you need to add or update a review site link you can navigate there by going to Settings > Review Settings > Review Profiles, and in the "Edit Review Profile" column click the pencil icon for the applicable review profile.

In the upper right corner of the review profile settings you'll see Form Settings > Review Site Links. Click the "Add a Review Site Link" button:

This will open up a modal where you can select a review site:

On the rare occasion that you don't see a review site you want to add on this list, you can choose the "Custom Link" option in the "Review Site" dropdown. This will allow you to add your review site so your contacts can review you on that site. Note that we're not able to track your reviews on sites you add via a "Custom Link"; we can only track reviews on review sites that are on the dropdown list.

Most review sites that you choose will look like the above example. The call-to-action URL is required. This is the URL where you want to direct your visitors to post their review.

In most cases this is going to be your business listing's main page on the review site. But in some cases the review site has one URL for writing a review and a different URL for your business listing. If this is the case then you'll also want to enter a tracking URL, which our system will use to track your reviews. Otherwise you can leave the "Tracking URL" field empty.

Click the "Add" button to add this review site link to the system and start tracking your reviews on the "Reviews" page.

Google Review Site Links

If you select Google from the "Review Site" dropdown you'll notice some different fields:

You'll need to find the "Google Place ID" for your business. If you have a physical location then this is easy:

Just go to the Google Place ID Finder and in the search bar at the top of the map enter the name of your business. Click on the correct name of your business in the results that appear below the search bar and the map will load with your Place ID:

Highlight and copy the Place ID (not the address underneath it), then return to ReputationStacker and paste the Place ID into the "Google Place ID" field in the review site link settings modal. When you do this, the "Call-to-Action URL" field will automatically populate with the correct URL for your contacts to write a Google review.

Be sure to click the "Add" button to add this review site link and start tracking your Google reviews on the "Reviews" page.

If you can't find your Google Place ID

If you have a service area business (meaning that you go to your customers rather than your customers coming to you), then there’s a good chance that Google’s Place ID Finder won’t find your business. That’s okay, there’s a workaround for this:

Search for your business on Google in the Chrome browser. When you find it, scroll down the page until you see the "Write a review" button. Right click (or command + click on a Mac) on the "Write a review" button, and in the menu that appears under your cursor click "Inspect". This will open a panel on the right side of the browser window that shows a lot of code.

Within this panel search for “data-pid” (to search click ctrl + F on a PC or command + F on a Mac). There will be a lot of instances of “data-pid”; you can press the return/enter button on your keyboard to cycle through them. You’re looking for the one that starts with “Ch” (it’s usually the third instance of “data-pid” on the page):

Click on the line of code that contains the data-pid value. Copy it and paste it into a text document. Then highlight the part that starts with “Ch”, copy and paste it into the "Google Place ID" field in the review site link settings modal in ReputationStacker.

When you do this, the "Call-to-Action URL" field will automatically populate with the correct URL for your contacts to write a Google review.

Be sure to click the "Add" button to add this review site link and start tracking your Google reviews on the "Reviews" page.

This can be tricky, so let us know if you want us to handle it for you. All we need is the name of your company and name of the review profile that you want to add your Google link to.

After you add your review site links, be sure to click around on your rating & form preview (in the area to the left of these settings) so you can see exactly how your contacts will interact with your review site links.

Updating, editing, hiding and deleting review site links

After you add a review site link it will appear in your rating & feedback form settings:

You can:

  • Re-order the links by dragging & dropping them. This will change the order that the links appear in when they're shown to your contacts on the rating & feedback form.
  • Edit/update a link by clicking the pencil icon. IMPORTANT: If you update your link URL(s) or Google Place ID then all of your tracked reviews for that review site will be deleted from ReputationStacker and the system will track reviews using the updated URL/Google Place ID.
  • Hide a link from your contacts on the rating & feedback form by clicking the eye icon. This is useful if you don't want to get reviews on a specific review site but you still want the system to track reviews on that site.
  • Delete a link by clicking the trash icon. When you delete a link then all of your tracked reviews for that review site will be deleted from ReputationStacker.

Integrating Google & Facebook for Review Responses

Both Google and Facebook give you the ability to respond to reviews directly from the ReputationStacker dashboard. To learn how to do it, check out this article about how to integrate Google & Facebook for Review Responses.

*Note that this is optional and not required in order to track your Google and Facebook reviews.
