Integrations: Connecting to Zapier

How to integrate ReputationStacker with other software via Zapier

Zapier is a service that allows you to easily connect software systems together in order to automate processes.

For example, you can set it so that when you've completed a job for a customer and marked the service as "completed" in your CRM, that customer is automatically added to ReputationStacker to receive review requests.

Setting up Zapier takes just a few minutes, and then the system runs automatically.

There are a few things you can use Zapier for with ReputationStacker:

  • Create new contacts in ReputationStacker: This is the most popular use of Zapier with RS. Use it to tell the system, "When [a specific trigger] happens in [my CRM/Google Sheets/etc], create a new contact in ReputationStacker."
  • When a new 3rd-party review (on Google, Facebook, etc) is received in ReputationStacker: Use this to trigger an action in another system when a new 3rd-party review is received. For example, "When a new 3rd-party review at 3-stars or lower is received in ReputationStacker, create a notification in Slack."
  • When a new 1st-party review is received in ReputationStacker: Use this to trigger an action in another system when a new 1st-party review is received. For example, "When a new 1st-party review at a rating of 7 or less is received in ReputationStacker, send an email to my customer care team."
  • When a new contact is created in ReputationStacker: Use this to trigger an action in another system when a new contact is created in RS.

You can set up Zapier for ReputationStacker either in the Zapier interface, or directly in RS by going to Settings > Account Settings > Integrations.

Here is a video that shows you an example of how to set up Zapier to automatically create new contacts in ReputationStacker:

IMPORTANT:
The API key you use to connect ReputationStacker to Zapier can be found in Settings > My User Settings > My Profile. Each RS account has a single API key. So when you connect to Zapier, it's done on a per-RS-account basis, not a per-RS-user basis. This means that any user who has access to the account's API key will have access to create Zapier Actions & Triggers that affect all of the review profiles in the account.

By default, any additional user you add to your RS account will not be able to see the account API key. We typically recommend keeping it this way (so that only the original RS account creator/owner has access to the API key). However, if you want to change this setting for any user, navigate to Settings > Account Settings > Users, then click on the pencil icon on the far right for the user you want to edit. In the modal that appears, scroll down to the "Permissions" section" and expand the "Settings" section.  You'll see an option to change the "User API Access" permission:

Click the radio button in the "Create & Edit" column to allow the user to see the API key in their "My Profile" settings. Be sure to click the "Save" button to save any changes you make.
