How to turn on Kiosk Mode
If you already have your customers' email addresses and/or phone numbers then you should leave Kiosk Mode turned off (unchecked).
But if you don't already collect your customers' email addresses or phone numbers you can turn on Kiosk Mode, which allows you to collect their contact info and feedback in-person at your place of business on a computer, tablet or phone.
What is Kiosk Mode?
Kiosk Mode allows you to present your rating & feedback form on a computer, tablet or phone in your place of business. In Kiosk Mode, the rating & feedback from includes some additional contact info fields so you can collect your customers' info and have the system automatically follow up with them:
Kiosk Mode allows for multiple responses from the same device. The form auto-resets to the beginning state upon submission or after a minute of inactivity.
Unlike standard mode, in which your contacts are shown your review site links as soon as they submit their feedback, in Kiosk Mode they are instead shown a thank-you message without review site links.
If they rated the experience at or above the "rating threshold" number (in the "Form Settings" for this review profile) then they are sent the messages located in the "Review Reminders" section of the campaign settings for the profile. In this way they can post a review from their own device, and the system will send additional follow-up review reminder messages in case they don't click through to a review site from the first message.
A few important notes:
- Kiosk Mode should only be used if you don't already add contacts into the system. If you use Kiosk Mode and also add contacts into the system yourself then the system won't work for the contacts you add.
- You must have "Review Reminder" messages published (not in "draft" mode) in your review profile campaign settings in order for them to be sent to your contacts who submit their information via Kiosk Mode.
- The U.S. Federal Trade Commission and many review sites require you to treat all reviewers the same, so if you use Kiosk Mode then you'll want to make sure that "Rating Threshold" is set to "0+" so that everyone, regardless of their rating, is eligible to be reminded to write reviews.
- "Review Reminder" messages are not sent out if you have chosen not to display any review site links on your "Threshold +" rating screen.
Where to go to turn on Kiosk Mode
To get to your Kiosk Mode settings go to Settings > Review Settings > Review Profiles, and in the "Edit Review Profile" column click the pencil icon for the applicable review profile.
In Form Settings > Additional Settings, you'll see the checkbox to turn on Kiosk Mode:
After you check the box you'll see the "Edit Kiosk Mode Settings" button become available. Click it to open the Kiosk Mode Settings modal where you can choose which contact info fields to show/require and edit the thank-you messages that your customers see after submitting the form.
You'll also see the form fields populate in the rating & feedback form preview to the left (above the "Submit Feedback" button). Feel free to click around and submit feedback via the form preview - any rating or feedback you enter here won't be saved. To reset the form to its default state, click the "Reset Form" button.
After you've got your Kiosk Mode settings the way you want them, be sure to click the "Save Profile" button in the upper right.
Lastly, in Form Settings > Sharing, click the button that says "Live Form URL":
You can paste this URL into a web browser on your computer, tablet or phone and it will load your rating & feedback form in Kiosk Mode. Be sure to bookmark the URL so you can get to it easily.
Now you're ready to start getting ratings, feedback and reviews from your customers in Kiosk Mode!
